Capitalising from the recent upgrade of the TOSCA neutron spectrometer (ISIS Facility, UK) and with a view of the design of VESPA (the vibrational spectrometer for ESS), the present work deals with the quantification of the Instrument Detection Limit (IDL) and Practical Quantification Limit (PQL) testing the analytical performance, robustness and statistical confidence of the upgraded instrument. Starting by an accurate standards selection, a quantitative spectra procedure on experimental data has been obtained. From the perspective of time and desired quality of the spectra, low concentration samples reliably measured will be possible.
