Two novel types of quantum phases are emerging in ultracold quantum gases in unprecedented regimes of interactions, density and magnetic stability: quantum liquid droplets and supersolids. Quantum droplets are a special type of ultra-dilute liquid stabilized by quantum fluctuations. Supersolids are a long-sought state of matter that combines the typical periodic structure of solids with the superfluid properties observed so far in fluids only. I will present our experimental advances towards the observation and characterization of such novel phases in mixtures of Bose-Einstein condensates and in magnetic dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates.
