The exceptional control over ultracold atoms systems has opened the way to quantum simulation, the possibility to directly test theoretical models in laboratory. In our experiment we are working on the realization of a 2D strongly interacting Fermi gas of lithium-6 atoms: our platform will consist of a fermionic superfluid with tunable interactions, trapped into arbitrary, eventually disordered, optical potentials realized with a Digital Micromirror Device and imprinted via a high resolution microscope objective. The precise control over disorder and atomic interactions will enable us to explore the interplay between many-body correlations and localization effects, that leads to superfluid-to-insulator transition.
