The MONDO (MOnitor for Neutron Dose in hadrOntherapy) project main goal is to develop a high efficiency tracking device capable of fully reconstructing the four-momentum of fast and ultra-fast secondary neutrons that make two consequent $(n,p)$ elastic scattering interactions. The detector is a matrix of thin plastic scintillating fibres (250 $\mu$m) readout by an innovative SPAD-based system. MONDO main application is the characterization of secondary neutrons produced in Particle Therapy. The detector performances have been studied with a MC FLUKA study. The MONDO expected performances and the readout chip calibration results will be presented.
