The EEE network aims at studing cosmic ray phenomena over the huge area of $\sim 3\times 105$ km${}^{2}$ employing a network of MRPC muon telescopes. The Project uses time synchronization by means of the Global Positioning System technology to correlate information collected by its 56 telescope stations, which are placed up to a distance of hundred kilometers. Therefore, each EEE telescope is equipped with a device for the time stamping of each trigger event. A new VME trigger unit was developed for this purpose, and a first set of 20 units has been tested. The trigger/GPS unit will be presented, including some measurements of time resolution.
