The main goal of the FOOT (FragmentatiOn Of Target) experiment is to measure the inelastic scattering cross sections of protons and ions relevant for particle therapy. The experimental setup consists of a high precision tracking system in magnetic field, a time of flight measurement system and a calorimeter. The optimization and the performance analysis of the setup have been studied by means of the FLUKA Monte Carlo code and different detectors have been tested providing the reliability of the experimental setup. An update report on the detector performances will be presented.
