In Hadrontherapy (or Ion Beam Therapy, IBT) high-energy beams of charged particles (protons and heavier ions) are used against deep tumours. Their physical depth-dose distribution in tissues is characterized by a low dose in the entrance channel and a sharp maximum (Bragg peak) near the end of their path. Moreover, these ions show enhanced biological effectiveness. A correct assessment of nuclear fragmentation phenomena is very important to evaluate the correct dose delivery: the FOOT (FragmentatiOn Of Target) experiment will improve the measurement of fragmentation cross sections relevant for IBT. Results are also useful for space radioprotection. In this talk the study of the momentum reconstruction with the Kalman filter technique and of fragment identification in charge and mass will be presented.
