Einstein Telescope (ET) is the European project for a 3rd-generation gravitational wave observatory. The awesome scientific achievements of the 2nd-generation detectors, Advanced Virgo and Advanced LIGO, are highlighting the huge potential of observing the Universe through the gravitational waves and of the multimessenger astronomy. ET promises a jump of a factor 10 in sensitivity with respect to the 2nd-generation detectors, opening a new era in the gravitational wave astronomy. After the conceptual design phase, ET is entering in a very crucial phase of its roadmap, defining the technical details of the hosting infrastructure, of the detectors and developing the needed technologies. The science targets, the design progresses, the site selection process, the organisation and governance evolutions will be presented.
