As part of the upgrade of the Auger Observatory, AugerPrime, the Surface Detector data quality will be improved by extending the acquisition dynamic range, allowing us to measure non-saturated signals as close as 250 m from the shower core. A fourth photomultiplier (SPMT) will be added in all stations to the currently used large phototubes (LPMT). Limited by their small photocathode, the SPMTs cannot be calibrated exploiting the energy released by single atmospheric muons. A new procedure has been developed to cross-calibrate the SPMT with the LPMTs response. Results on the technique and its implementation will be presented.
