The rationale of our study is to perform X-ray dosimetry in Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) with Monte Carlo (MC) simulations in homogeneous phantoms. We developed a GEANT4-based application that reproduces DBT investigations and the Mean Glandular Dose (MGD) is estimated. As a pseudo-3D imaging technique of the breast, DBT reduces the limitation of tissue superposition of 2D digital mammography, increasing the visibility of tumor masses. As compared to mammography, additional $t-$-factors are employed in the computation of MGD via MC simulations for different breast anatomies, scanner geometries and X-ray spectra. We present the formalism and the main dependences of the MGD.
